OK. I have two (misophonia and alexithymia), and had a third (nail biting) when I was a child.

Alexithymia is a known problem for most people diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Alexithymia#Medical_and_psychiatric_illness

You can do a test for it here: http://oaq.blogspot.com/

That was the first time I really laughed out loud while reading anything that has to do with misophonia. Thanks Richard! I needed that- It felt so good to giggle about this crazy thing.

Agree with the others and laughed, even though **I** am the T-Giving asshole (JeebusFarkingCHRISTonaWadofGum can't my sister do something about her talk-through-his-food husband and her open-mouth-chewing brats from HELL???!!!)

Of course, when they're not eating in my earshot, I love them dearly and am not given to cursing. Truly!

I have to pick out my Thanksgiving seating very carefully, and I am first up to help with dishes, trust me. Way better than heading off to the football room to endure the sound of the chips.

Though I read Cracked regularly, I was a little worried when I clicked the link, since Cracked sometimes has a tendency to do a little research and fill in the rest with ignorant comedy.

But this writer is good! Accurate and funny! ^^

This article was actually how I found out about the condition! I got to that part, and right away I was like "I HAVE THAT! IT HAS A NAME! I'M NOT CRAZY!"

This is where we learned what my brother has.

The Cracked . com article contains a clear, concise, accurate description of misophonia, listing the exact symptoms that plague my brother.

Before, we just thought it was some kind of OCD. Knowing what it was enabled us to get better information, and just knowing he isn't the only person in the world with this strange condition is a relief.

Cracked . com is both funny and educational, and I recommend it if you can deal with bad language and are over 18.

I am putting the spaces in the URL because the site rules say I can't post outside links until I've been on a while.
